Münzer Bangla raises awareness

The first Safe Food Festival in Bangladesh

Food safety is as important today as it was then. It is about ensuring the safe preparation, handling and storage of food. The Bangladesh Food Safety Authority (BFSA) organized the first ever Safe Food Carnival earlier this month. Shamim Ahmed, Head of PR & Communication at Münzer Bangla Pvt. Ltd., was there with his colleagues.

From 8th to 10th February, more than 80 companies from the food industry gathered at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre in Dhaka. The aim of the Safe Food Carnival was to raise awareness about food safety, promote safe food producers and retailers, and encourage dialogue between the government and citizens.

Networking and awareness raising

Among the 80 exhibitors, Münzer Bangla Pvt. Ltd. had a stand. "We are very pleased to have been given the opportunity to demonstrate our positive impact on the environment and society in Bangladesh," says Shamim Ahmed. He and his colleagues made contact with restaurant and hotel operators, food processors and suppliers. "They have assured us that they will help us as much as possible to collect more used cooking oil across the country and reduce the risks.”

Raising brand awareness

"It was very important for us to be part of the Safe Food Carnival - also to increase our brand awareness," says Shamim. As press spokesman, he gave interviews to numerous local and social media outlets, explaining the key role that Münzer Bioindustrie plays in the production of biodiesel from used cooking oil.

"We were also very pleased with the number of curious visitors to our stand, who asked us all kinds of questions. And our branded car was also there. This is of course extremely important for the brand awareness of our company.”
